Jonathan Villar traded to Brewers

Jonathan Villar was traded by the Houston Astros to the Milwaukees Brewers on November 19, 2015. The Astros in exchange received Cy Sneed.

Villar is a SS\3B\OF who split 2015 between Triple A Fresno and the Astros. He hit .271/.342/.407 with 5 HR, 32 RBI, 59 R, 35 SB in 70 games at Fresno and .284/.339/.414 with 2 HR, 11 RBI, 18 R, 7 SB in 53 games with the Astros. Over three MLB seasons with the Astros he hit .236/.300/.353 with 10 HR, 46 RBI, 75 R, 42 SB in 198 games. He originally signed with the Phillies in 2008 as an amateur free agent out of the Dominican Republic and traded to the Astros in 2010. Villar turned 24 on May 2nd.

RHP Sneed split 2015 between Class A Wisconsin and Class A Advanced Brevard County. He was 3-7, 2.68 ERA, 67 K, 1.13 WHIP, .239 BAA, 1 SV in 77.1 IP over 15 games at Wisconsin and 3-4, 2.47 ERA, 55 K, 1.13 WHIP, .253 BAA in 62.0 IP over 11 games at Brevard County. He was originally drafted by the Brewers in the third round in 2014. Sneed turned 23 on October 1st.
