Erasmo Ramirez traded to Rays

Erasmo Ramirez was traded by the Seattle Mariners to the Tampa Bay Rays on March 31, 2015. The Mariners in exchange received Mike Montgomery.

RHP Ramirez split 2014 between Class A Advanced High Desert, Triple A Tacoma and the Mariners. He was 0-1, 7.50 ERA, 7 K, 1.67 WHIP, .308 BAA in 6.0 IP in 1 game at High Desert, 6-5, 3.65 ERA, 67 K, 1.22 WHIP, .270 BAA in 86.1 IP over 15 games at Tacoma and 1-6, 5.26 ERA, 60 K, 1.54 WHIP, .277 BAA in 75.1 IP over 17 games with the Mariners. Over four MLB seasons with the Rays and Mariners he is 7-13, 5.11 ERA, 171 K, 1.41 WHIP, .267 BAA in 217.0 IP over 51 games. He originally signed with the Mariners in 2007 as an amateur free agent out of Nicaragua. Ramirez will be 25 on May 2nd. 

LHP Montgomery pitched in 2014 at Triple A Durham where he was 10-5, 4.29 ERA, 98 K, 1.31 WHIP, .245 BAA in 126.0 IP over 25 games. He was originally drafted by the Royals with the 36th pick of the first round in 2008 and was traded to the Rays in 2012. Montgomery will be 26 on July 1st.
