J.D. Martinez hits four home runs vs Clippers 041914

J.D. Martinez of the Toledo Mud Hens hit four home runs in a double header against the Columbus Clippers on April 19, 2014. He hit three in the first game as he was 3 for 5 with 5 RBI and 3 runs while hitting third as the DH. In the second game he was 1 for 2 with the home run, 2 RBI, 1 run and 2 walks while hitting third as he played left field. For the season he is now hitting .308/.366/.846 with 10 HR, 22 RBI, 16 R, 2 SB in 17 games. Toledo is the Triple A team of the Detroit Tigers. Toledo won the first game 8-1 and the second 7-6. The outfielder does have three seasons MLB experience with the Astros where he hit .251/.300/.387 with 24 HR, 126 RBI, 87 R, 2 SB in 252 games. He was originally drafted by the Astros in the 20th round in 2009. Martinez will be 27 on August 21.
