John Axford traded to Cardinals

John Axford was traded by the Milwaukee Brewers to the St Louis Cardinals on August 30, 2013 in exchange for a player to be named later. RHP Axford has five seasons MLB experience pitching with the Brewers. This season he was 6-7, 4.45 ERA, 54 K, 1.56 WHIP in 54.2 IP over 62 games. For his MLB career he is 21-19, 3.35 ERA, 318 K, 1.33 WHIP, 106 SV in 263.1 IP over 268 games. He originally signed with the Yankees in 2006 as an amateur free agent. Axford turned 30 on April 1st.
