Francisco Rodriguez traded to Orioles

Francisco Rodriguez was traded by the Milwaukee Brewers to the Baltimore Orioles on July 23, 2013. In exchange the Brewers received Nick Delmonico.

RHP Rodriguez has 12 seasons MLB experience pitching with the Brewers, Mets and Angels. Prior to the trade he was 1-1, 1.09 ERA, 26 K, 1.05 WHIP, 10 SV in 24.2 IP over 25 games with the Brewers. For his MLB career he is 40-35, 2.67 ERA, 911 K, 1.17 WHIP, 304 SV in 750.1 IP over 712 games. He originally signed with the Angels in 1998 as an amateur free agent out of Venezuela. Rodriguez turned 31 on January 7th. 

Delmonico is a third baseman who was with Class A Advanced Frederick of the Baltimore Orioles prior to the trade. In 2013 he hit .243/.350/.469 with 13 HR, 30 RBI, 33 R, 5 SB in 61 games at Frederick. He was originally drafted by the Orioles in the sixth round in 2011. Delmonico turned 21 on July 12.
