Armando Galarraga traded to Rockies

Armando Galarraga was traded by the Cincinnati Reds to the Colorado Rockies on July 15, 2013. In exchange the Reds received Parker Frazier.

RHP Galarraga has six seasons MLB experience pitching with the Astros, Diamondbacks, Tigers and Rangers. Prior to the trade he pitched with Triple A Louisville of the Cincinnati Reds. In 2013 he was 6-6, 2.98 ERA, 62 K, 1.39 WHIP in 84.2 IP over 16 games at Louisville. For his MLB career he is 26-34, 4.78 ERA, 346 K, 1.41 WHIP in 542.0 IP over 100 games. He originally signed with the Expos in 1998 as an amateur free agent out of Venezuela. Galarraga turned 31 on January 15. 

RHP Frazier split 2013 between Double A Tulsa and Triple A Colorado Springs of the Colorado Rockies prior to the trade. He was 1-1, 2.57 ERA, 26 K, 1.23 WHIP in 35.0 IP over 16 games at Tulsa and was 0-1, 10.67 ERA, 9 K, 2.93 WHIP in 14.1 IP over 9 games at Colorado Springs. He was originally drafted by the Rockies in the eighth round in 2007. Frazier will be 25 on November 11.
