Juan Rivera traded to Dodgers
Outfielder Juan Rivera was traded by the Toronto Blue Jays to the Los Angeles Dodgers on July 12, 2011. In exchange the Blue Jays will receive cash or a player to be named later. Over his career Rivera has played for the Blue Jays, Angels, Expos and Yankees. The last couple seasons he has started spending time at first base. For his career he has hit .277 with 119 home runs and 14 steals. This season before the trade he was hitting .243 with six home runs, 28 RBI, 22 runs and 3 steals with Toronto. He was originally signed by the Yankees as an amateur free agent in 1996 out of Venezuela.
