Tommy Kahnle traded to White Sox

Tommy Kahnle was traded by the Colorado Rockies to the Chicago White Sox on November 24, 2015. The Rockies in exchange received Yency Almonte.

RHP Kahnle split 2015 between Triple A Albuquerque and the Rockies. He was 1-3, 4.67 ERA, 28 K, 1.15 WHIP, .196 BAA, 6 SV in 27.0 IP over 21 games at Albuquerque and 0-1, 4.86 ERA, 39 K, 1.77 WHIP, .250 BAA, 2 SV in 33.1 IP over 36 games with the Rockies. Over two MLB seasons with the Rockies he was 2-2, 4.41 ERA, 102 K, 1.38 WHIP, .220 BAA, 2 SV in 102.0 IP over 90 games. He was originally drafted by the Yankees in the fifth round in 2010. Kahnle will be 27 on August 7th.

RHP Almonte split 2015 between Class A Kannapolis and Class A Advanced Winston-Salem. He was 8-4, 3.88 ERA, 71 K, 1.27 WHIP, .256 BAA in 92.2 IP over 17 games at Kannapolis and 3-3, 2.42 ERA, 39 K, 0.90 WHIP, .179 BAA in 44.2 IP over 7 games at Winston-Salem. He was originally drafted by the Angels in the 17th round in 2012 and was traded to the White Sox in February 2015. Almonte will be 22 on June 4th.
