Brandon Kintzler traded to Nationals

Brandon Kintzler was traded by the Minnesota Twins to the Washington Nationals on July 31, 2017. The Twins in exchange received Tyler Watson and international signing bonus pool space.

RHP Kintzler was 2-2, 2.78 ERA, 27 K, 1.15 WHIP, .246 BAA, 28 SV in 45.1 IP over 45 games with the Twins in 2017. Over eight MLB seasons with the Twins and Brewers he was 12-13, 3.24 ERA, 196 K, 1.25 WHIP, .266 BAA, 45 SV in 280.2 IP over 271 games. He was originally drafted by the Padres in the 40th round in 2004. Kintzler turned 33 on August 1st.

LHP Watson was 6-4, 4.35 ERA, 98 K, 1.25 WHIP, 258 BAA in 93.0 IP over 18 games with 17 GS at Class A Hagerstown in 2017. He was originally drafted by the Nationals in the 34th round in 2015. Watson turned 20 on May 22.
