Kevin Franklin traded to Braves

Kevin Franklin was traded by the Cincinnati Reds to the Atlanta Braves on August 11, 2017 as an addition to the earlier Brandon Phillips deal.  The first baseman had split 2017 between Class A Dayton and Class A Advanced Daytona after starting the season on the DL. He hit 9 for 44, .205/.255/.295 with 1 HR, 5 RBI, 3 R, 0 SB in 14 games at Dayton and 6 for 40, .150/.190/.175 with 0 HR, 0 RBI, 2 R, 0 SB in 13 games at Daytona. He was originally drafted by the Reds in the second round in 2013. Franklin turned 22 on November 24.
