B.J. Boyd of the Midland RockHounds was selected the Texas League Player of the Week for the span of August 7, 2017 through August 13, 2017. For the week he hit 12 for 25, .480/.536/.640 with 1 2B, 1 HR, 4 RBI, 8 R, 1 SB and 3 BB in 6 games. This season the outfielder is hitting 150 for 460, .326/.373/.433 with 4 HR, 48 RBI, 69 R, 12 SB in 113 games. Midland is the Double A team of the Oakland Athletics. He was originally drafted by the Athletics in the fourth round in 2012. Boyd turned 24 on July 16.
