Tom Koehler traded to Blue Jays

Tom Koehler was traded by the Miami Marlins to the Toronto Blue Jays on August 19, 2017 along with cash. The Marlins in exchange received Osman Gutierrez. 

RHP Koehler had split 2017 between Class A Advanced Jupiter, Triple A New Orleans and the Marlins. He was 0-1, 6.75 ERA, 5 K, 1.75 WHIP, .278 BAA in 4.0 IP in 1 game at Jupiter, 1-1, 1.67 ERA, 55 K, 1.14 WHIP, .213 BAA in 37.2 IP over 7 games with 6 GS at New Orleans and 1-5, 7.92 ERA, 44 K, 1.72 WHIP, .302 BAA in 55.2 IP over 12 GS with the Marlins. Over six MLB seasons with the Marlins he was 36-54, 4.43 ERA, 586 K, 1.40 WHIP, .259 BAA in 767.1 IP over 146 games with 132 GS. He was originally drafted by the Marlins in the 18th round in 2008. Koehler turned 31 on June 29.

RHP Gutierrez had split 2017 between Class A Lansing and Short Season A Batavia. He was 4-11, 7.85 ERA, 71 K, 1.81 WHIP, .288 BAA in 78.0 IP over 18 GS at Lansing and 0-0, 1.50 ERA, 5 K, 1.00 WHIP, .190 BAA in 6.0 IP in 1 game at Batavia. He originally signed with the Blue Jays in 2011 as an amateir free agent out of Nicaragua. Gutierrez turned 22 on December 15.
