Sean Manaea of the Oakland Athletics had a historically bad game on the mound in a 12-5 loss to the Baltimore Orioles on August 12, 2017. The one plus is that an out was recorded which allowed the math to compute. The Orioles started the game with the stars aligned and Manaea had whatever is the opposite of that.
Manaea walked Tim Beckham to start the game and then six straight Orioles got a hit. Jonathan Schoop was thrown out at the plate to record the only out before Manaea was pulled. For the game he was 0-1, 162.00 ERA, 0 K, 21.00 WHIP, 1.000 BAA while giving up 6 H, 6 R, 6 ER in 0.1 IP. Not to mention the wild pitch before he gave up the last two hits.
Unfortunely it was a home game so Manaea will have to return to the scene of the nightmare sooner than later. Unless he gets traded for the sake of his psyche. Wonder if new pitching coach Scott Emerson a hugger?
