The Pawtucket Red Sox swept the Charlotte Knights 3 games to 0 to win the Governor's Cup which is the International League Finals. Pawtucket is the Triple A team of the Boston Red Sox. Steven Wright was the winning pitcher of the 7-2 first game, Zach Stewart was the winning pitcher of the 2-0 second game and Nelson Figueroa was the winning pitcher of the 4-1 final game. Bryce Brentz and Juan Carlos Linares had been the leading hitters of the playoffs with .333 each.
The Reno Aces defeated the Omaha Storm Chasers 3 games to 1 and claimed the Pacific Coast League Championship. Reno is the Triple A team of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Reno won the first game 13-1 behind winning pitcher Trevor Bauer, Omaha won the second game 9-6 to back winning pitcher Ryan Verdugo, Reno won game 3 3-0 giving the victory to Joe Martinez and Charles Brewer was the winning pitcher of the clinching 8-2 last game. Josh Bell and A J Pollock led the Aces hitters in the playoffs with .333 each.
