Oscar Taveras Texas League Player of Year 2012

Oscar Taveras of the Springfield Cardinals was awarded the Texas League Player of the Year. Springfield is the Double A team of the St Louis Cardinals. In 2012 the outfielder hit .321/.380/.572 with 23 HR, 94 RBI, 83 R, 10 SB in 124 games with Springfield. He originally signed with the Cardinals as an amateur free agent in 2008 out of the Dominican Republic. Taveras turned 20 on June 19.
