Jenrry Mejia gets first MLB win
Jenrry Mejia of the New York Mets got the first win of his MLB career with a 6-2 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates on September 24. His line for the game was 5.0 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 4 K in 96 pitches. For the season the RHP is 1-1 with a 4.91 ERA, 5 K, 1.91 WHIP in 11.0 IP over 4 games with the Mets. Earlier in 2012 he was with Triple A Buffalo where he was 3-4 with a 3.54 ERA, 39 K, 1.34 WHIP in 73.2 IP over 26 games. He did pitch for the Mets in 2010 and his MLB totals are 1-5 with a 4.68 ERA, 27 K, 1.74 WHIP in 50.0 IP over 37 games. He was originally signed by the Mets as an amateur free agent in 2007 out of the Dominican Republic. Mejia will be 23 on October 11.
