Guillermo Quiroz traded to Red Sox
Guillermo Quiroz was traded by the Seattle Mariners to the Boston Red Sox on September 4, 2012 in exchange for cash. Quiroz is a catcher with seven seasons of limited MLB experience playing with the Mariners, Orioles, Rangers and Blue Jays. In 2012 he was playing with the Mariners Triple A team in Tacoma where he hit .278/.362/.483 with 15 HR, 52 RBI, 45 R, 0 SB in 89 games. For his MLB career he has hit .208/.267/.275 with 2 HR, 28 RBI, 19 R, 1 SB in 101 games. He originally signed with the Blue Jays as an amateur free agent in 1998 out of Venezuela. Quiroz will be 31 on November 29.
