Temper Temper

Brett Lawrie of the Toronto Blue Jays was the latest player to have an outburst during a game. He let his emotions get the better of him and ended up hitting the umpire with his batting helmet. While I have made my opinion about umpires be known that doesn't mean they should be subjected to violence. Confrontations with the umpires have been part of the game for years but there has been a controlled rage in most of those cases. It could be that certain players may need anger management classes.

It was less than a week ago that our favorite phenom Bryce Harper had a tantrum in the dugout and broken bat cut his face. He is very lucky that the bat didn't hit any higher or he'd be without an eye. His promising career would be over just as it started because I'm not aware of any one eye ball players in the game. That would have been the topper on a bad year for former number one draft picks.
