Jeff Larish traded to Pirates

Jeff Larish was traded by the Boston Red Sox to the Pittsburgh Pirates on May 12, 2012 for cash. Larish is a first baseman and third baseman who has three years MLB experience having played with the Tigers 2008 to 2010 and also with the Athletics in 2010. In 2011 he played for the Phillies Triple A team and hit .240/.330/.449 with 13 HR, 37 RBI, 33 R and 1 SB in 75 games. He signed with the Orioles in January 2012, was release in March and then signed with the Red Sox in April but never played a game. For his MLB career he has hit .224/.308/.380 with 8 HR, 32 RBI, 30 R and 3 SB in 101 games. He was originally drafted by the Tigers in the fifth round in 2005. Larish will be 30 on October 11.
