Here is my week 12 installment of College Spotlight for 2012. This week I am looking at Andrew Heaney of Oklahoma State and Kris Bryant of San Diego.
Junior LHP Andrew Heaney of Oklahoma State had a good outing last Friday shutting down Oklahoma as he went 9.0 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 7 K in 107 pitches as he got the win in a 3-0 game. For the season he is 7-1 with a 1.65 ERA, 109 K, 0.87 WHIP in 93.0 IP over 12 games. As a Sophomore he was 7-4 with a 4.03 ERA, 51 K, 1.49 WHIP in 67.0 IP over 20 games with 9 as a starter.
Sophomore third baseman Kris Bryant of San Diego had a good series against Brigham Young going 8 for 15 at the plate over three games. On the season he is hitting .373/.489/.689 with 13 HR, 51 RBI, 52 R and 7 SB in 47 games. He started his college career of well as a Freshman hitting .365/.482/.599 with 9 HR, 36 RBI, 57 R and 18 SB in 53 games. He should be a shining star next year.
