Tyrell Jenkins traded to Rangers

Tyrell Jenkins was traded by the Atlanta Braves to the Texas Rangers on December 8, 2016 along with Brady Feigl. The Braves in exchange received Luke Jackson. 

RHP Jenkins split 2016 between Triple A Gwinnett and the Braves. He was 9-3, 2.47 ERA, 55 K, 1.45 WHIP, .272 BAA in 83.2 IP over 17 games with 12 GS at Gwinnett and 2-4, 5.88 ERA, 26 K, 1.69 WHIP, .279 BAA in 52.0 IP over 14 games with 8 GS with the Braves. He was originally drafted by the Cardinals with the 50th pick of the first round in 2010 and was traded to the Braves in 2014. Jenkins turned 24 on July 20.

LHP Feigl split 2016 between Rookie Gulf Coast and Rookie Danville. He was 0-0, 0.00 ERA, 2 K, 0.33 WHIP, .100 BAA in 3.0 IP over 3 games at Gulf Coast and 0-0, 0.00 ERA, 4 K, 1.00 WHIP, .182 BAA in 3.0 IP over 3 games at Danville. He originally signed with the Braves in 2013 as a non-drafted free agent. Feigl will be 26 on December 27.

RHP Jackson split 2016 between Double A Frisco, Triple A Round Rock and the Rangers. He was 0-1, 4.81 ERA, 32 K, 1.81 WHIP, .276 BAA, 1 SV in 24.1 IP over 20 games at Frisco, 1-0, 2.45 ERA, 27 K, 1.27 WHIP, .178 BAA, 2 SV in 22.0 IP over 16 games at Round Rock and 0-0, 10.80 ERA, 3 K, 2.57 WHIP, .415 BAA in 11.2 IP over 8 games with the Rangers. Over two MLB seasons with the Rangers he was 0-0, 8.50 ERA, 9 K, 2.06 WHIP, .346 BAA in 18.0 IP over 15 games. He was originally drafted by the Rangers with the 45th pick of the first round in 2010. Jackson turned 25 on August 24.
