Brooks Pounders was traded by the Kansas City Royals to the Los Angeles Angels on December 1, 2015. The Royals in exchange received Jared Ruxer.
RHP Pounders split 2016 between Triple A Omaha and the Royals. He was 5-3, 3.14 ERA, 90 K, 1.29 WHIP, .226 BAA in 80.1 IP over 31 games with 7 GS at Omaha and 2-1, 9.24 ERA, 13 K, 1.74 WHIP, .352 BAA in 12.2 IP over 13 games with the Royals. He was originally drafted by the Pirates in the second round in 2009 and was traded to the Royals in 2011. Pounders turned 26 on September 26.
RHP Ruxer was 3-2, 1.44 ERA, 99 K, 1.34 WHIP, .273 BAA in 111.0 IP over 29 games with 19 GS at Class A Burlington in 2016. He was originally drafted by the Angels in the 12th round in 2014. Ruxer turned 24 on July 29.
