Jett Bandy traded to Brewers

Jett Bandy was traded by the Los Angeles Angels to the Milwaukee Brewers on December 13, 2016. The Brewers in exchange received Drew Gagnon and Martin Maldonado.

Bandy is a catcher who split 2016 between Triple A Salt Lake and the Angels. He hit .274/.314/.411 with 2 HR, 21 RBI, 13 R, 2 SB in 24 games at Salt Lake and .234/.281/.392 with 8 HR, 25 RBI, 23 R, 1 SB in 70 games with the Angels. Over two MLB seasons with the Angels he hit .237/.283/.408 with 9 HR, 26 RBI, 24 R, 1 SB in 72 games. His MLB caught stealing rate is 40%. He was originally drafted by the Angels in the 31st round in 2011. Bandy will be 27 on March 26.

Maldonado is a C\1B who hit .202/.332/.351 with 8 HR, 21 RBI, 21 R, 1 SB in 76 games with the Brewers. Over six MLB seasons with the Brewers he hit .217/.299/.342 with 28 HR, 111 RBI, 89 R, 2 SB in 355 games. His MLB caught stealing rate is 35%. He was originally drafted by the Angels in the 27th round in 2004. Maldonado turned 30 on August 16.

RHP Gagnon split 2016 between Double A Biloxi and Triple A Colorado Springs. He was 1-0, 0.00 ERA, 15 K, 0.60 WHIP, .095 BAA, 1 SV in 13.1 IP over 5 games with 1 GS at Biloxi and 2-1, 5.56 ERA, 48 K, 1.47 WHIP, .280 BAA in 55.0 IP over 31 games with 3 GS at Colorado Springs. He was originally drafted by the Brewers in the third round in 2011. Gagnon turned 26 on June 26.
