Tommy Hottovy traded to Rangers
Tommy Hottovy was traded by the Kansas City Royals to the Texas Rangers on November 8, 2012 in exchange for a player to be named later and cash. The LHP has two seasons of MLB experience with the Royals and Red Sox. He split 2012 between the Royals and Triple A Omaha. He was 2-2 with a 2.52 ERA, 61 K, 1.16 WHIP, 7 SV in 50.0 IP over 41 games with Omaha and was 0-0 with a 2.89 ERA, 6 K, 1.71 WHIP in 9.1 IP over 9 games with Kansas City. For his MLB career he is 0-0 with a 4.05 ERA, 8 K, 1.72 WHIP in 13.1 IP over 17 games. He was originally drafted by the Red Sox in the fourth round in 2004. Hottovy turned 31 on July 9th.
