Blake Tekotte traded to White Sox

Blake Tekotte was traded by the San Diego Padres to the Chicago White Sox on November 7, 2012. In exchange the Padres received Brandon Kloess.

Tekotte is an outfielder with two seasons of MLB experience after brief stints with the Padres. He split 2012 between Triple A Tucson and San Diego. He hit .243/.284/.402 with 9 HR, 26 RBI, 38 R, 9 SB in 89 games with Tucson and hit .133/.133/.133 with 0 HR, 0 RBI, 0 R, 1 SB in 11 games with San Diego. For his MLB career he has hit .163/.226/.224 with 0 HR, 1 RBI, 1 R, 3 SB in 30 games. He was originally drafted by the Padres in the third round in 2008. Tekotte turned 25 on May 24.

RHP Kloess pitched in 2012 for the White Sox Double A team Birmingham and Triple A team Charlotte. He was 3-3 with a 3.35 ERA, 44 K, 1.16 WHIP, 3 SV in 45.2 IP over 24 games at Birmingham and was 3-0 with a 1.61 ERA, 26 K, 1.39 WHIP, 1 SV in 28.0 IP over 13 games at Charlotte. He originally signed with the White Sox as an amateur free agent in 2009. Kloess will be 28 on December 9th.
