Matt Reynolds was traded by the Colorado Rockies to the Arizona Diamondbacks on November 20, 2012. In exchange the Rockies received Ryan Wheeler.
LHP Reynolds has 3 seasons MLB experience all pitching with the Rockies. In 2012 he was 3-1 with a 4.40 ERA, 51 K, 1.43 WHIP in 57.1 IP over 71 games. Wheeler is a 3B\1B who split 2012 between Triple A Reno and Arizona. He hit .351/.388/.572 with 15 HR, 90 RBI, 56 R, 3 SB in 93 games with Reno and hit .239/.294/.339 with 1 HR, 10 RBI, 11 R, 1 SB in 50 games with Arizona. He was originally drafted by the Diamondbacks in the fifth round in 2009. Wheeler turned 24 on July 10.
