Sandy Rosario traded to Athletics
Sandy Rosario was traded by the Boston Red Sox to the Oakland Athletics on November 28, 2012 for a player to be named later or cash. The RHP has 3 seasons of MLB experience with brief stints with the Marlins in each. He split 2012 between Miami and the minors pitching at Class A Advanced, Double A and Triple A. He was a combined 0-2 with a 1.99 ERA, 29 K, 0.98 WHIP, 17 SV in 31.2 IP over 31 minor league games and was 0-0 with an 18.00 ERA, 2 K, 2.67 WHIP in 3.0 IP over 4 games with Miami. The Red Sox claimed him off waivers on October 17. For his MLB career he is 0-0 with a 15.26 ERA, 4 K, 3.26 WHIP in 7.2 IP over 10 games. He originally signed with the Marlins as an amateur free agent in 2004 out of the Dominican Republic. Rosario turned 27 on August 22.
