Steven Wright traded to Red Sox

Steven Wright was traded by the Cleveland Indians to the Boston Red Sox on July 31, 2012. In exchange the Indians received Lars Anderson. 


RHP Wright was pitching with the Indians Double A team in Akron. In 2012 he was 9-6 with a 2.49 ERA, 101 K, 1.28 WHIP in 115.2 IP over 20 games with Akron. He was originally drafted by the Indians in the second round in 2006. Wright will be 28 on August 30.


Anderson is a 1B/OF who had split 2012 between the Red Sox Triple A team in Pawtuckett and the Red Sox. He hit .259/.359/.415 with 9 HR, 52 RBI, 49 R, 1 SB in 93 games with Pawtuckett and hit .125/.125/.125 with 0 HR, 0 RBI, 1 R, 0 SB in 6 games with Boston. He was originally drafted by the Red Sox in the 18th round in 2006. Anderson will be 25 on September 25.
