Ryota Igarashi traded to Blue Jays
Ryota Igarashi was traded by the Pittsburgh Pirates to the Toronto Blue Jays on March 30, 2012. In exchange the Pirates will receive a player to be named later and cash. Igarashi signed with the Pirates in December after being released by the Mets. In 2011 he was 4-1 with a 4.66 ERA, 42 strikeouts and 1.84 WHIP in 38.2 innings over 45 games with the Mets. In his two year career with the Mets the RHP was 5-2 with a 5.74 ERA, 67 strikeouts and 1.71 WHIP in 69.0 innings over 79 games. He originally signed with the Mets as a free agent in 2009 out of Japan.
