The Oakland Athletics defeated the Yomiuri Giants 5-0 in an exhibition game on March 25, 2012. Tom Milone of Oakland out dueled Ryosuke Miyaguni through their five inning cap. Milone allowed only two hits, zero walks and zero earned runs while striking out seven. Miyaguni struck out nine over his five innings but allowed three hits, two walks and one earned run. Ryan Cook, Brian Fuentes, Jordan Norberto and Grant Balfour each pitched a scoreless inning to help preserve the shut out. The Athletics top hitters were Jemile Weeks who was two for five with two RBI, Josh Reddick who was two for four with two runs and Kurt Suzuki who was one for two with a home run, two walks, two RBI and a run.
