Jairo Asencio traded to Indians

Jairo Asencio was traded by the Atlanta Braves to the Cleveland Indians on March 29, 2012 in exchange for cash. The RHP split 2011 between Triple A and the Braves and was 3-2 with a 1.81 ERA, 70 strikeouts, 1.19 WHIP and 26 saves in 71.1 innings over 58 games at Triple A and was 0-0 with a 6.97 ERA, eight strikeouts and 2.03 WHIP in 10.1 innings over six games with the Braves. He originally signed with the Pirates as an amateur free agent in 2001 out of the Dominican Republic.
