Danny Valencia traded to Orioles
Danny Valencia was traded by the Boston Red Sox to the Baltimore Orioles on November 28, 2012 in exchange for cash. The third baseman had started 2012 with the Twins and was traded to the Red Sox in August and split time between both parent clubs and their Triple A teams. He had hit .250/.289/.399 with 7 HR, 37 RBI, 30 R, 1 SB in 69 games with Triple A Rochester and hit .198/.212/.310 with 2 HR, 17 RBI, 13 R, 0 SB in 34 games with Minnesota. After the trade he hit .306/.358/.429 with 1 HR, 8 RBI, 3 R, 0 SB in 13 games with Triple A Pawtucket and hit .143/.138/.250 with 1 HR, 4 RBI, 1 R, 0 SB in 10 games at Boston. For his MLB career he has hit .257/.297/.389 with 25 HR, 133 RBI, 107 R, 4 SB in 283 games. He was originally drafted by the Twins in the 19th round in 2006. Valencia turned 28 on September 19.
