Cory Burns traded to Rangers
Cory Burns was traded by the San Diego Padres to the Texas Rangers on November 28, 2012 for a player to be named later or cash. The RHP split 2012 between Triple A Tucson and San Diego. He was 1-2 with a 3.14 ERA, 78 K, 1.00 WHIP, 3 SV in 66.0 IP over 54 games with Tucson and was 0-1 with a 5.50 ERA, 18 K, 2.00 WHIP in 18.0 IP over 17 games with San Diego. He was originally drafted by the Indians in the eighth round in 2009. Burns turned 25 on October 9th.
