Is Pedro Alvarez Breaking Out?

Pedro Alvarez is on a hot streak. Does it mean that he is breaking out? Time will tell. 


Over his last 11 games he has had multiple hits in seven of them. At the start of the streak his batting average was .067. But that wasn't even his low point because two games before that he was at .042. It was at that time he was dropped in our league and could have been had for $3. I thought about it and let it pass. Then he really went on a tear starting last Friday with a home run in each game of a double header and has five for the week. He has hit 16 for 44 or .363 during the streak to raise his season average to a slightly more palatable .257. But it is the seven home run total that has likely pushed his price past the waiver wire minimum.
