Gerardo Parra was traded by the Arizona Diamondbacks to the Milwaukee Brewers on July 31, 2014. The Diamondbacks in exchange received Mitch Haniger and Anthony Banda.
Parra is an outfielder who hit .259/.305/.362 with 6 HR, 30 RBI, 51 R, 5 SB in 104 games with the Diamondbacks in 2014. Over six MLB seasons with the Diamondbacks he hit .274/.326/.395 with 39 HR, 250 RBI, 333 R, 51 SB in 787 games. He originally signed with the Diamondbacks in 2004 as an amateur free agent out of Venezuela. Parra turned 27 on May 6th.
Haniger is an outfielder who hit .255/316/.416 with 10 HR, 34 RBI, 41 R, 4 SB in 67 games at Double A Huntsville in 2014. He was originally drafted by the Brewers with the 38th pick of the first round in 2012. Haniger will be 24 on December 23.
LHP Banda was 6-6, 3.66 ERA, 83 K, 1.46 WHIP, 2 SV in 83.2 IP over 20 games at Class A Wisconsin in 2014. He was originally drafted by the Brewers in the tenth round in 2012. Banda will be 21 on August 10.
