This is the 19th segment of 2014 as I continue to follow Bubba Starling and Fred Ford as they make their way up the minor league ranks of the Kansas City Royals. Starling starts off 2014 at Class A Advanced Wilmington as the Red Rocks were 33-35 in the first half and are 28-29 in the second half. Ford started 2014 repeating time at Class A Lexington as the Legends finished the first half 29-41 and are 25-37 in the second half and on August 8th was moved up to Wilmington.
This week Bubba was 6 for 23 with 0 HR, 1 RBI, 2 R, 0 SB in 6 games. As the season winds down he is hitting .221/.310/.351 with 9 HR, 53 RBI, 64 R, 15 SB in 122 games.
Fred continues to adjust to the move up as he hit 2 for 9 with 1 HR, 4 RBI, 1 R, 0 SB in 4 games. Between the two levels combined he has hit .202/.290/.362 with 12 HR, 52 RBI, 47 R, 8 SB in 113 games.
