This is the 17th segment of 2014 as I continue to follow Bubba Starling and Fred Ford as they make their way up the minor league ranks of the Kansas City Royals. Starling starts off 2014 at Class A Advanced Wilmington as the Red Rocks were 33-35 in the first half and are 22-24 in the second half. Ford is repeating time at Class A Lexington as the Legends finished the first half 29-41 and are 19-30 in the second half.
Bubba had an off week hitting 3 for 17 with 0 HR, 1 RBI, 2 R, 0 SB in 6 games. This season he is hitting .222/.304/.356 with 9 HR, 52 RBI, 60 R, 13 SB in 110 games.
Fred actually got a promotion mid week to join Bubba at Wilmington. He started the week at Lexington playing two games and finished his time there hitting .206/.296/.364 with 10 HR, 46 RBI, 44 R, 8 SB in 101 games. At Wilmington he hit 2 for 10 with 0 HR, 0 RBI, 1 R, 0 SB in 3 games.
