Raul Valdes traded to Blue Jays
Raul Valdes was traded by the Houston Astros to the Toronto Blue Jays on May 20, 2014 for a player to be named later. The LHP is in his fifth MLB season having played for the Astros, Phillies, Yankees, Cardinals and Mets. Prior to the traded be split 2014 between Triple A Oklahoma City and the Astros as he was 1-0, 3.48 ERA, 13 K, 0.87 WHIP in 10.1 IP over 8 games at Oklahoma City and was 0-0, 12.27 ERA, 4 K, 2.18 WHIP, 1 SV in 3.2 IP over 8 games with the Astros. For his MLB career he is 7-7, 5.13 ERA, 147 K, 1.33 WHIP, 2 SV in 140.1 IP over 103 games. He originally signed with the Cubs in 2004 as an amateur free agent out of Cuba. Valdes turned 36 on November 27.
