This is the fourth segment of 2014 as I continue to follow Bubba Starling and Fred Ford as they make their way up the minor league ranks of the Kansas City Royals. Starling starts off 2014 at Class A Advanced Wilmington as the Red Rocks are 13-14. Ford is repeating time at Class A Lexington as the Legends are 12-17.
Bubba continues to struggle but did show a positive glimmer as he hit 3 for 20 with one double, 1 HR, 4 RBI, 3 R, 2 SB in 5 games. This season he is hitting .141/.266/.272 with 2 HR, 10 RBI, 13 R, 3 SB in 25 games
Fred broke out of his short slump as he hit 6 for 20 with 1 HR, 4 RBI, 5 R, 0 SB in 6 games. For the season he is hitting .258/.346/.438 with 3 HR, 21 RBI, 14 R, 4 SB in 27 games.
