This is the fifth segment of 2014 as I continue to follow Bubba Starling and Fred Ford as they make their way up the minor league ranks of the Kansas City Royals. Starling starts off 2014 at Class A Advanced Wilmington as the Red Rocks are 15-18. Ford is repeating time at Class A Lexington as the Legends are 14-21.
Bubba is still starting the season with a slump as this week he was 4 for 26 with a double, 0 HR, 0 RBI, 3 R, 2 SB in 7 games. For the season he is hitting .144/.266/.263 with 2 HR, 10 RBI, 16 R, 5 SB in 32 games
Fred slipped into another slump as he was 1 for 19 with 1 HR, 1 RBI, 1 R, 0 SB in 5 games. For the season he is hitting .222/.306/.398 with 4 HR, 22 RBI, 15 R, 4 SB in 32 games
