This is the seventh segment of 2014 as I continue to follow Bubba Starling and Fred Ford as they make their way up the minor league ranks of the Kansas City Royals. Starling starts off 2014 at Class A Advanced Wilmington as the Red Rocks are 25-23. Ford is repeating time at Class A Lexington as the Legends are 22-27.
Bubba has a 13 game hitting streak going as this week he hit 9 for 28 with 2 triples, 0 HR, 7 RBI, 6 R, 2 SB in 7 games. Now he is hitting .198/.303/.311 with 2 HR, 20 RBI, 26 R, 9 SB in 45 games.
Fred continues to spiral was he hit 1 for 17 with 0 HR, 1 RBI, 0 R, 0 SB in 5 games. He is now hitting .197/.305/.352 with 5 HR, 24 RBI, 20 R, 4 SB in 43 games.
