This is the sixth segment of 2014 as I continue to follow Bubba Starling and Fred Ford as they make their way up the minor league ranks of the Kansas City Royals. Starling starts off 2014 at Class A Advanced Wilmington as the Red Rocks are 18-22. Ford is repeating time at Class A Lexington as the Legends are 19-23.
Bubba strung together a six game hitting streak this week as he hit 7 for 21 with a double, 0 HR, 3 RBI, 4 R, 2 SB over the 6 games. Now he is hitting .173/.288/.281 with 2 HR, 13 RBI, 20 R, 7 SB in 38 games.
Fred was still trying to break his slump as he hit 3 for 14 with 1 HR, 1 RBI, 5 R, 0 SB in 5 games. This season he is hitting .216/.320/.392 with 5 HR, 23 RBI, 20 R, 4 SB in 38 games.
