Kyle Kaminska traded to Red Sox

Kyle Kaminska was traded by the Pittsburgh Pirates to the Boston Red Sox on December 6, 2012 to complete an earlier deal for Zach Stewart. The RHP went to the Pirates in August as part of the Gaby Sanchez trade. Before the August trade Kaminska pitched for the Marlins Double A team Jacksonville and Triple A team New Orleans and was 6-3 with a 5.11 ERA, 42 K, 1.60 WHIP, 1 SV in 49.1 IP over 31 games at Jacksonville and was 0-1 with a 6.23 ERA, 2 K, 1.15 WHIP in 4.1 IP over 2 games at New Orleans. After the trade he pitched with the Pirates Class A Advanced team Bradenton and Double A team Altoona and was 2-0 with a 1.69 ERA, 11 K, 0.75 WHIP in 16.0 IP over 3 games at Bradenton and was 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA, 11 K, 1.08 WHIP in 12.0 IP over 4 games at Altoona. He was originally drafted by the Marlins in the 25th round in 2007. Kaminska turned 24 on October 5th.
