Shin-Soo Choo traded to Reds in 3 team deal

Shin-Soo Choo was traded by the Cleveland Indians to the Cincinnati Reds on December 11, 2012 along with Jason Donald and cash. In exchange the Indians received Drew Stubbs and Didi Gregorius. The Indians then traded Tony Sipp, Lars Anderson and Didi Gregorius to the Arizona Diamondbacks. In exchange the Indians received Trevor Bauer, Matt Albers and Bryan Shaw. 

Choo is an outfielder with eight seasons MLB experience playing with the Indians and Mariners. In 2012 he hit .283/.373/.441 with 16 HR, 67 RBI, 88 R, 21 SB in 155 games. For his MLB career he has hit .289/.381/.465 with 83 HR, 373 RBI, 390 R, 85 SB in 699 games. He originally signed with the Mariners as an amateur free agent in 2000 out of South Korea. Choo turned 30 on July 13.

Donald is a 3B\SS\2B with three seasons MLB experience playing all with the Indians. He split 2012 between Triple A Columbus and Cleveland as he hit .277/.365/.441 with 6 HR, 31 RBI, 46 R, 5 SB in 65 games at Columbus and hit .202/.246/.282 with 2 HR, 11 RBI, 18 R, 4 SB in 43 games at Cleveland. For his MLB career he has hit .257/.309/.362 with 7 HR, 43 RBI, 70 R, 12 SB in 170 games. He was originally drafted by the Phillies in the third round in 2006. Donald turned 28 on September 4th.

Stubbs is an outfielder with four seasons MLB experience all with the Reds. In 2012 he hit .213/.277/.333 with 14 HR, 40 RBI, 75 R, 30 SB in 136 games. For his MLB career he has hit .241/.312/.386 with 59 HR, 178 RBI, 285 R, 110 SB in 486 games. He was originally drafted by the Reds in the eighth round in 2006. Stubbs turned 28 on October 4th.

LHP Sipp has four seasons MLB experience pitching all with the Indians. In 2012 he was 1-2 with a 4.42 ERA, 51 K, 1.27 WHIP, 1 SV in 55.0 IP over 63 games. For his MLB career he is 11-7 with a 3.68 ERA, 225 K, 1.26 WHIP, 2 SV in 220.1 IP over 248 games. He was originally drafted by the Indians in the 45th round in 2004. Sipp turned 29 on July 12.

Anderson is a first baseman who has three seasons MLB experience playing brief stints with the Boston Red Sox. He had been traded from the Red Sox to the Indians in August. Before the traded he split playing for Triple A Pawtucket and Boston as he hit .259/.359/.415 with 9 HR, 52 RBI, 49 R, 1 SB in 93 games at Pawtucket and hit .125/.125/.125 with 0 HR, 0 RBI, 1 R, 0 SB in 6 games with Boston. After the trade he played with Triple A Columbus and hit .196/.319/.286 with 0 HR, 7 RBI, 4 R, 0 SB in 18 games. For his MLB career he has hit .167/.268/.188 with 0 HR, 4 RBI, 7 R, 0 SB in 30 games. He was originally drafted by the Red Sox in the 18th round in 2006. Anderson turned 25 on September 25.

RHP Bauer split 2012 between Double A Mobile, Triple A Reno and Arizona. He was 7-1 with a 1.68 ERA, 60 K, 1.22 WHIP in 48.1 IP over 8 games at Mobile, was 5-1 with a 2.85 ERA, 97 K, 1.33 WHIP in 82.0 IP over 14 games at Reno and was 1-2 with a 6.06 ERA, 17 K, 1.65 WHIP in 16.1 IP over 4 games at Arizona. Bauer was originally drafted by the Diamondbacks with the third pick of the first round in 2011. Bauer will be 22 on January 17.

RHP Albers is in his seventh MLB season pitching with the Diamondbacks, Red Sox, Orioles and Astros. He was traded to Arizona by the Red Sox in July. Before the trade he was 2-0 with a 2.29 ERA, 25 K, 1.14 WHIP in 39.1 IP over 40 games with Boston. After the trade he was 1-1 with a 2.57 ERA, 19 K, 1.09 WHIP in 21.0 IP over 23 games at Arizona. For his MLB career he is 22-30 with a 4.68 ERA, 318 K, 1.48 WHIP in 442.1 IP over 300 games. He was originally drafted by the Astros in the 23rd round in 2001. Albers will be 30 on January 20.

RHP Shaw is in his second MLB season pitching both with the Diamondbacks. He split 2012 between Triple A Reno and Arizona and was 0-0 with a 2.25 ERA, 10 K, 1.00 WHIP, 2 SV in 8.0 IP over 8 games at Reno and was 1-6 with a 3.49 ERA, 41 K, 1.42 WHIP, 2 SV in 59.1 IP over 64 games at Arizona. For his MLB career he is 2-6 with a 3.18 ERA, 65 K, 1.39 WHIP, 1 SV in 87.2 IP over 97 games. He was originally drafted by the Diamondbacks in the second round in 2008. Shaw turned 25 on November 8th.

Gregorius is a shortstop who split 2012 between Double A Pensacola, Triple A Louisville and Cincinnati. He hit .278/.344/.373 with 1 HR, 31 RBI, 45 R, 3 SB in 81 games at Pensacola, hit .243/.288/.427 with 6 HR, 23 RBI, 25 R, 0 SB in 48 games at Louisville and hit .300/.300/.300 with 0 HR, 2 RBI, 1 R, 0 SB in 8 games at Cincinnati. He was originally signed by the Reds as an amateur free agent in 2007 out of Netherlands. Gregorius will be 23 on February 18.
