Wilton Lopez was traded by the Houston Astros to the Colorado Rockies on December 4, 2012 along with a player to be named later or cash. In return the Astros received Alex White and Alex Gillingham.
RHP Lopez has four seasons MLB experience all pitching with the Astors. In 2012 he was 6-3 with a 2.17 ERA, 54 K, 1.04 WHIP, 10 SV in 66.1 IP over 64 games. For his MLB career he is 13-13 with a 3.14 ERA, 169 K, 1.21 WHIP, 11 SV in 223.2 IP over 213 games. He was originally signed by the Yankees as an amateur free agent in 2002 out of Nicaragua. Lopez turned 29 on July 19.
RHP White has two seasons of MLB experience pitching with the Rockies and Indians. He split 2012 between Triple A Colorado Springs and Colorado. He was 3-4 with a 3.71 ERA, 45 K, 1.27 WHIP in 60.2 IP over 11 games at Colorado Springs and was 2-9 with a 5.51 ERA, 64 K, 1.68 WHIP in 98.0 IP over 23 games with Colorado. He was originally drafted by the Indians with the 15th pick of the first round in 2009. White turned 24 on Austust 29.
RHP Gillingham pitched with the Rockies Class A team Asheville in 2012. He was 6-8 with a 3.66 ERA, 83 K, 1.22 WHIP in 123.0 IP over 19 games. He was originally drafted by the Rockies in the 11th round in 2011. Gillingham turned 23 on October 17.
