Brett Jackson traded to Diamondbacks

Brett Jackson was traded by the Chicago Cubs to the Arizona Diamondbacks on August 15, 2014. The Cubs in exchange received Blake Cooper.

Jackson is an outfielder who was at Triple A Iowa where he hit .210/.298/.348 with 5 HR, 20 RBI, 23 R, 4 SB in 81 games. He did have some MLB experience with the Cubs in 2012 when he hit .175/.303/.342 with 4 HR, 9 RBI, 14 R, 0 SB in 44 games. He was originally drafted by the Cubs with the 31st pick of the first round in 2009. Jackson turned 26 on August 2nd.

RHP Cooper had split 2014 between Double A Mobile and Triple A Reno as he was 3-2, 1.85 ERA, 31 K, 1.06 WHIP in 34.0 IP over 24 games at Mobile and 1-0, 6.00 ERA, 17 K, 1.75 WHIP in 24.0 IP over 17 games at Reno. He was originally drafted by the Diamondbacks in the 12th round in 2010. Cooper turned 26 on March 30.
