Tito Polo traded to Yankees

Tito Polo was traded by the Pittsburgh Pirates to the New York Yankees on August 30, 2016 along with Stephen Tarpley to complete an earlier deal.

Polo is an outfielder who had split 2016 between Class A West Virginia and Class A Advanced Bradenton. H hit .302/.368/.551 with 12 HR, 37 RBI, 46 R, 20 SB in 54 games at West Virginia and .276/.351/.346 with 4 HR, 28 RBI, 40 R, 17 SB in 55 games at Bradenton. He originally signed with the Pirates in 2012 as an amateur free agent out of Columbia. Polo turned 22 on August 23. 

LHP Tarpley was 6-4, 4.32 ERA, 90 K, 1.30 WHIP, .249 BAA in 100.0 IP over 20 games at Bradenton in 2016. He was originally drafted by the Orioles in the third round in 2013 and traded to the Pirates in 2015. Tarpley turned 23 on February 17.
