Dioner Navarro traded to Blue Jays

Dioner Navarro was traded by the Chicago White Sox to the Toronto Blue Jays on August 26, 2016. The White Sox in exchange received Colton Turner.

Navarro is a catcher who hit .210/.267/.339 with 6 HR, 32 RBI, 25 R, 1 SB in 85 games with the White Sox in 2016. Over 13 MLB seasons with the White Sox, Blue Jays, Cubs, Reds, Dodgers, Rays and Yankees he hit .251/.309/.372 with 77 HR, 364 RBI, 321 R, 14 SB in 993 games. His MLB caught stealing rate is 28%. He originally signed with the Yankees in 2000 as an amateur free agent out of Venezuela. Navarro turned 32 on February 9th.

LHP Turner had split 2016 between Class A Lansing, Class A Advanced Dunedin and Double A New Hampshire. He was originally drafted by the Blue Jays in the 21st round in 2012. Turner turned 25 on January 17.
