Coco Crisp traded to Indians

Coco Crisp of the Oakland Athletics was traded to the Cleveland Indians on August 31, 2016 along with cash. The Athletics in exchange received Colt Hynes.

Crisp is an outfielder who hit .234/.299/.399 with 11 HR, 41 RBI, 45 R, 7 SB in 102 games with the Athletics in 2016. Over 15 MLB seasons with the Athletics, Royals, Red Sox and Indians he hit .266/.327/.402 with 128 HR, 631 RBI, 868 R, 306 SB in 1566 games. He was originally drafted by the Cardinals in the seventh round in 1999. Crisp turned 36 on November 1st.

LHP Hynes had split 2016 between Double A New Hampshire and Triple A Buffalo of the Toronto Blue Jays and Double A Akron and Triple A Columbus of the Indians, He was 0-1, 1.37 ERA, 21 K, 1.02 WHIP, .203 BAA in 19.2 IP over 13 games at New Hampshire, 2-0, 5.71 ERA, 22 K, 1.56 WHIP, .338 BAA, 1 SV in 17.1 IP over 16 games at Buffalo, 1-0, 5.00 ERA, 8 K, 1.33 WHIP, .286 BAA, 1 SV in 9.0 IP over 8 games at Akron and 0-0, 13.50 ERA, 1 K, 2.25 WHIP, .429 BAA in 1.1 IP in 1 game at Columbus. Over two MLB seasons with the Blue Jays and Padres he was 0-0, 8.55 ERA, 17 K, .220 WHIP, .367 BAA in 20.0 IP over 27 games. He was originally drafted by the Padres in the 31st round in 2007. Hynes turned 31 on June 28.
