Marc Rzepczynski traded to Nationals

Marc Rzepczynski was traded by the Oakland Athletics to the Washington Nationals on August 25, 2016 along with cash. The Athletics in exchange received Max Schrock.

LHP Rzepczynski was 1-0, 3.00 ERA, 37 K, 1.72 WHIP, .266 BAA in 36.0 IP over 56 games with the Athletics in 2016. Over eight MLB seasons with the Nationals, Athletics, Padres, Indians, Cardinals and Blue Jays he is 12-24, 3.87 ERA, 365 K, 1.40 WHIP, .253 BAA, 1 SV in 381.2 IP over 406 games with 23 GS. He was originally drafted by the Blue Jays in the fifth round in 2007. Rzepczynski will be 31 on August 29.

Schrock is a second baseman who had split 2016 between Class A Hagerstown and Class A Advanced Potomac. He hit .326/.381/.459 with 4 HR, 39 RBI, 46 R, 15 SB in 67 games at Hagerstown and .341/.373/.453 with 5 HR, 29 RBI, 30 R, 7 SB in 54 games at Potomac. He was originally drafted by the Nationals in the 13th round in 2015. Schrock will be 22 on October 12,
